Get your dream job

Whether you are a recent college graduate or an experienced employee if you are looking for a new job in the New Year we are here to help. Maybe you are looking for a new job because you are not currently happy with your job, want to change your career field, or recently moved to a new city. If you are looking for a new job, let us help you find your dream job just a little bit faster.

4 Tips to Help You Get Your Dream Job this Year

Update your resume. If it’s been quite some time since you applied for a job or if you are applying for your first job, the odds are that your resume probably needs to be updated. Visit resume building websites to choose a resume format that will catch your potential employer’s eye and get your resume to the top of the pile. Resume building websites will also help you use key buzz words to get your resume attention.

Work on your interview skills. Your resume will get you an interview, but your personality will get you a job — so let your personality shine through your business suit. Be friendly but always be professional during an interview, your potential employer has to like you before they offer you a job. Smile during the interview and definitely make eye contact with your potential employer.

Look the part. If you are interviewing for a new job you have to look the part. Make sure that your outfit is pressed and your nails are clean. You don’t have to buy a new expensive business suit but you do have to be professional. Black paints with a nice blouse and jacket are nice for women; gentlemen don’t forget your tie.

Remember that everything is a test. From the time you arrive at the interview to how much time it takes you to follow up after the interview — remember that everything is a test. Be on your best behaviour, sit up straight and ask questions. Potential employers love it when you ask questions; but don’t ask about the salary or the benefits, that is a job interview no-no. Feel free to negotiate your salary after the initial job offer is made, but don’t ask about it during the interview.
