When searching for a job, it’s important to choose a company where you’ll be given the opportunity to move up the corporate ladder fairly easily based on your knowledge and skills. That’s why a place like mobile phone company, Vodafone, is a great place to start your retail career. All 2,200 of Vodafone’s retail employees are eligible to enroll in the NVQ Development Programme. This enables employees to progress from an entry-level trainee position all the way to a regional manager.
About the Programme
The programme is comprised of a total of six NVQ levels. Shortly after joining the company, every retail trainee will acquire a Level 2 NVQ in Customer Services and Sales. In just 12 weeks these new employees will have completed the programme and already be putting what they’ve learned into practice.
From there, employees can go on to get their Level 3 NVQ in Sales. This gives them the opportunity to move up to positions such as Senior Retail Adviser or Retail Business Adviser. And it doesn’t stop there. Ambitious employees with hopes of advancing to a Managerial position can even go on to achieve their NVQ in levels 4—6. Those who choose to complete all six NVQ levels will have achieved the equivalent of four A levels and 15 GCSE qualifications.2
What Do I Need to Qualify?
Because there are no academic prerequisites, no employees are excluded from enrolling in the programme.1 As long as you have the drive and determination to complete the NVQ programme, you’re eligible, as well as encouraged, to do so.
So if you’re looking for a career that can offer you the opportunity to progress quickly within a company — like most are — then you may want to consider what a retail position with Vodafone can offer you. It’s a great opportunity to get the professional head start that you’ve been looking for.
