After having kids, one of the toughest decisions we’re faced with is whether or not to go back to work. Many parents feel that having someone at home, either the mum or dad, is important to a child’s development. At the same time, sacrificing an income can make things difficult on childcare and day-to-day living.
Fortunately, there are ways for stay-at-home mums (and dads) to make a living without having to leave the house. By working from home, you’ll be able to generate an income while still supporting your child’s needs. Here are some things you can keep busy with:
• Mystery shopper. As a mystery shopper, you get paid to go undercover and test various products and services for companies. You’ll have to pay for any expenses upfront, but you’ll typically get reimbursed at the end of your assignment. And the best part? All you need is a computer and Internet access.
• Freelance writer. Are you a good writer? If so, you could earn a good amount of money by blogging for various companies from your own bed. Or, if you have your own personal blog, you can install Google AdSense and get paid based on how many readers click on your blog’s ads.
• Pet sitter. If you love animals, you can create a pet sitting business for your friends and neighbours. Walking a dog is a great way to get out of the house and stretch your legs while still spending time with your little one.
